Our partnership with Jefferson Elementary and the community at Meadow Lanes continue to grow over this past year! Through the pandemic our Kids Hope mentors, who couldn’t meet their kids in person during the pandemic, continued to connect through written letters. We have also seen amazing connection with parents and kids at Meadow Lanes through food ministry and activities—and we can’t wait to see the God stories that come from meeting people where they are!
We were able to partner with some missionaries in Detroit and help them kick off their new missional thrift store with donations from The Local Church community.
In a tough, pandemic-driven holiday season, Overflow was able to be a bright spot for families who wanted to make a better Christmas for their kids. This past year Overflow was able to provide a location for the Wonderland Toy Store to meet, disperse presents, and allow parents to shop for their children. We were able to provide a better Christmas for 75 families in the Benton Harbor area and support Mosaic by providing them a space to run the event out of.
We are thrilled with the goodness of God over the past year. But our past and those blessings are now part of our history and the challenge of the future are before us. Operationally the challenge will be to move back toward a full operation of all programming and ministry functions in the context of a very uncertain world in which we ministry. Staff are excited and motivated to follow the leadership of the Lord into the future He is calling us to serve.
